Le Domaine

Located close to Visan,
a village stronghold within an ancient Papal enclave in the Vaucluse Departement of France, "Coste Chaude" is an estate of more than 35 hectares (86 thousand acres) of which 21.2 hectares (52 thousand acres) is composed of vineyards.
To reach the Domaine, you leave the village via the road sign posted "Saint Maurice par la montagne", and climb the hill, passing through vineyards, olive groves, truffle groves and forests.
From Roman times through the Dauphin du Viennois period to its acquisition as Papal territory, Visan has kept many traces of its prestigious past.

Domaine de Coste Chaude

There have been vineyards growing on these hillsides for centuries: indeed, local records for 1582 state that vines were being grown in the "Coste Chaude" area already in the 16th century.

From its idyllic hilltop situation "Coste Chaude" over-looks the countryside.

A truly peaceful haven where one can concentrate on vine cultivation and the skill needed to transform grapes into fine wines.

Le Terroir

The soil is composed of gravel and clay originating from an accumulation of ancient alluvial deposits dating back seven million years. This is covered with a layer of smooth pebbles, providing ideal conditions for growing vines.

Pierrosité importante Climat méditerranéen One of the essential elements for growing vines in the area is the Mediterranean climate: hot temperatures, sunny, with very little rainfall during the summer. To these conditions one should also add the influence of the "Mistral" (a violent wind typical of the area), which is necessary and indeed beneficial for the development of the vines
